Mill Three
A quick three-piece version of the classic mill game. Place three pieces, slide to make a line of three, and beat the computer.
How to play
- The board has nine points joined by lines. Each side has three pieces. You and the computer take turns.
- First place your three pieces on empty points. After that, slide a piece to a connected empty point.
- Make a straight line of three of your own pieces to win.
- Choose Easy, Medium or Hard. If nobody wins after forty moves, the game is a draw.
Tips and strategy
- The centre point is on four lines, so holding it gives you the most options.
- Always check what line the computer is one move from finishing, and block it.
- Create two threats at once so the computer can only stop one.
- Use Hint if you are stuck. It shows a strong move but you still choose whether to play it.
FAQ
- Can I move diagonally?
- Only along the drawn lines. The centre point connects to every other point.
- Who moves first?
- It alternates between games, so both sides get the first move.
- How does the computer decide?
- Easy makes some random moves. Hard looks several moves ahead and always blocks an immediate threat.
