Word Pyramid
Start from a three letter word and add one letter at a time, rearranging as you go, to climb a pyramid of longer words. Daily and practice puzzles.
How to play
- You start with a base word of three letters. Each row of the pyramid adds exactly one new letter to the row before it.
- Type a word that uses every letter of the previous row plus the new letter, in any order. The new letter is shown for each row.
- Tap Check to lock the row in. A word of the wrong length, or one that misses a letter, is rejected and counted as a mistake.
- Reach the top row to solve the pyramid. Hints reveal the first letter of the answer but are counted in your result.
Tips and strategy
- Think about endings first. Adding S, D, R or E to the letters often gives a plural or a past tense.
- Any valid word is accepted, so try rearranging the tiles instead of keeping the old order.
- If a row is stuck, try the longest word you can see in the letters first and work down.
- Use a hint only when you are truly stuck. A pyramid with no mistakes and no hints earns the best rating.
FAQ
- Does my word have to match the one the game chose?
- No. Any real word built from exactly those letters is accepted, so there are often several routes up.
- Is every pyramid solvable?
- Yes. Each puzzle is built by climbing a real chain of words before it is offered to you.
- How tall can a pyramid be?
- Practice offers three, four or five rows above the base word. The daily has four.
