Letter Ring
Letters sit around a ring with one empty slot. Read clockwise from the arrow and pick the letter that finishes a real word. Daily and practice.
How to play
- Each question shows a ring of letters with one slot marked with a question mark.
- Start at the arrow and read the letters clockwise, going round the ring. The marked slot is the missing letter.
- Pick the letter that makes a real English word. Only one of the four choices works.
- Wrong picks are greyed out and counted as mistakes. The clock starts on your first tap and stops on the last answer.
Tips and strategy
- Always begin at the arrow. The same letters read from a different start make a different word.
- Say the ring out loud as you go round. It is easier to hear a word than to see it.
- Later questions use longer words, up to eight letters, so look for common endings such as ING, ED and ER.
- Try the daily first. Everyone gets the same ring, so you can compare times.
FAQ
- Can a wrong letter also make a word?
- The wrong choices are picked so that none of them completes an English word in the dictionary this game uses.
- Do I read clockwise or anticlockwise?
- Clockwise, starting at the slot under the arrow.
- Is the daily the same for everyone?
- Yes. It is built from the date, so everyone gets the same questions on the same day.
