Cross out numbers so each row and column adds up to the total shown at the edge. Live running totals show how close you are. Daily and practice.
How to play
- Each row and column shows a total at the edge in the form now/target. The numbers you leave must add up to that target.
- Tap a number once to cross it out. Tap again to circle it as a number you are keeping. A third tap clears the mark.
- Crossed out numbers stop counting. Circled and unmarked numbers both count towards the totals.
- When every row and every column matches its target, the puzzle is solved.
Tips and strategy
- Work from lines whose target is very small or very close to the full sum, as they have few options.
- A number bigger than a line target must be crossed out.
- Circle numbers you are certain about so you do not undo good work.
- Each row and column keeps at least one number, so never cross out a whole line.
FAQ
- Is there a unique solution?
- Not always. Any set of crossed out cells that meets every row and column total counts as solved.
- Why does the total go green or red?
- Green means that line matches its target. Red means it is still below target, and grey means it is over.
- Is the daily shared?
- Yes. It is built from the UTC date and everyone gets the same grid until 00:00 UTC.
