Slice Fractions
Shade the right amount of a bar or a pie. Ask for three quarters of a pie cut in twelve and see if you can turn it into slices. Daily puzzle.
How to play
- Each round asks you to shade a fraction, like 2/3, of a bar or a pie.
- The shape is often cut into more parts than the fraction's bottom number, so you have to turn the fraction into parts.
- Tap parts to shade them, then press Check. A wrong answer tells you what fraction you actually shaded.
- Get every round right to finish. Pick 3, 5 or 8 rounds for practice. The daily is 5 rounds.
Tips and strategy
- Divide the number of parts by the bottom number to find how many parts make one share.
- Multiply that by the top number. That is how many parts to shade.
- For example, 3/4 of a pie cut in 12 is 12 divided by 4, times 3, which is 9 slices.
- Use Clear to start a round over.
FAQ
- Does the order of the slices matter?
- No. Any parts count as long as the right number are shaded.
- What counts as a slip?
- Each time you press Check with the wrong number of parts. Slips are shown in your result.
- Can the answer be the whole shape?
- No. The asked fraction is always less than one whole.
