Mix It
Match a target colour by dropping red, yellow, blue, white and black paint into the bowl. Close matches earn stars. Five new colours arrive every day.
How to play
- A target colour is shown beside your bowl. Add or remove drops of the five paints to change the mix.
- The bowl shows the average of all the drops you add, so more drops of one paint pull the colour towards it. You can use up to eight drops.
- Press Match it to lock in your mix. You earn up to three stars for how close you came, and see one recipe that makes the target exactly.
- Match five colours to finish and earn a grade out of fifteen stars.
Tips and strategy
- White lightens a colour and black darkens it. Add one drop at a time and watch the swatch move.
- Orange needs red and yellow, green needs yellow and blue, and purple needs red and blue.
- Every target can be made from three to six drops, so a perfect match always exists.
- A mix of all three bright paints drifts towards a muddy brown, so keep your recipes simple.
FAQ
- How are the stars decided?
- By how far your colour is from the target in red, green and blue values. Very close earns three stars, near earns two, and roughly right earns one.
- Is there always a perfect answer?
- Yes. Each target is built from a real recipe of the same paints, and the recipe is shown after you answer.
- Is this how real paint mixes?
- It is a simplified model that averages colours by the drop. It is good for a game, but real pigments behave a little differently.
