Type Rush
Type as many words as you can before the clock runs out. Daily 60-second text for everyone, with WPM and accuracy to share.
How to play
- A list of everyday words is shown. Start typing the highlighted word to start the clock.
- Press space after each word to move on. A word only counts if you typed it exactly right.
- When time is up you see your speed in words per minute and your accuracy.
- Daily mode is a fixed 60-second test with the same words for everyone. Practice mode offers 15, 30 and 60 seconds.
Tips and strategy
- Look one word ahead while you type the current one, so your fingers never wait for your eyes.
- Accuracy beats raw speed here, because a wrong word does not count at all.
- Do not stop to fix a typo: space and move on, since the word is already lost.
- Keep your wrists relaxed and use all ten fingers if you can.
FAQ
- How is WPM calculated?
- Only correctly typed words count. Each correct word adds its letters plus one for the space, and the total divided by five gives words, scaled to one minute.
- Is the daily text the same for everyone?
- Yes. The words are picked from the UTC date, so everyone types the same list and it changes at 00:00 UTC.
- Does it work on a phone?
- Yes, but a physical keyboard is faster. On a phone, turn off autocorrect suggestions if they get in the way.
