Time Teller
Read the hands on an analogue clock and pick the right time. Questions start with whole hours and work up to any minute. A new daily set is waiting.
How to play
- Each question shows an analogue clock. Pick the digital time that matches the hands.
- The set gets harder as it goes: whole hours first, then quarter hours, then five-minute steps, and finally any minute.
- A wrong pick is greyed out and counted as a mistake, and you keep going until you find the right one. The clock stops after the last question.
- The daily set is the same for everyone and resets at 00:00 UTC. Practice mode has sets of 8, 12 or 20 questions.
Tips and strategy
- Read the short, thick hand first. It tells you the hour, and it sits part-way between two numbers when the minutes are not zero.
- The long hand points at a number from 1 to 12. Multiply that number by 5 to get the minutes.
- Wrong options often swap the two hands. Check which hand is the longer one before you tap.
- When the long hand is past the 6, the hour hand is nearly at the next number, but the hour is still the one it has just passed.
FAQ
- Why does the hour hand sit between numbers?
- It moves smoothly as the minutes pass. At half past, it sits exactly halfway between two numbers.
- Are the times 12-hour or 24-hour?
- They are 12-hour times such as 4:05, because a plain clock face cannot tell morning from afternoon.
- Does the daily set change?
- Yes. A new set of eight clocks arrives every day at 00:00 UTC, the same for every player.
