Stack Drop
Rotate and place falling four-block pieces to complete rows. A ghost piece, next-piece preview, levels and a pause button are included.
How to play
- Press Start. Pieces of four blocks fall into a ten-wide well. Move them with the arrow buttons or keys.
- Rotate with the Rotate button, the Up arrow or X. The dashed outline shows where the piece will land.
- Fill a whole row with no gaps to clear it. Clearing several rows at once scores much more.
- The game ends when a new piece has no room to appear. Every ten lines raises the level and the falling speed.
Tips and strategy
- Keep the stack flat and avoid leaving holes under pieces, since holes are hard to reach later.
- Leave one column open on the side and wait for a long piece to clear four rows together.
- Use the next-piece preview to plan where the current piece should go.
- Hard drop is worth extra points but gives you no time to adjust, so use it once the spot is certain.
FAQ
- Do I get a fair mix of pieces?
- Yes. Pieces come from a shuffled bag of all seven shapes, so long droughts do not happen.
- How is scoring worked out?
- One, two, three or four rows score 100, 300, 500 or 800 times your level, with small bonuses for soft and hard drops.
- Can I pause?
- Yes. Use the Pause button. The piece stops falling until you resume.
