Slide and Climb
A classic dice race up a 100-square board where ladders boost you ahead and slides drop you back. Beat up to three bot rivals to square 100.
How to play
- Choose how many bots to race, then press Roll dice. Your piece moves forward by the number rolled, starting from square 1 at the bottom left.
- Land at the bottom of a green ladder and you climb to its top. Land at the top of a red dashed slide and you drop to the bottom of it.
- The numbering snakes back and forth, so rows alternate direction. The tokens show where each player is.
- You must reach square 100 with an exact roll. If you roll too high, you stay where you are and try again next turn.
Tips and strategy
- There are no decisions in this game, so the fun is the swings. Keep an eye on the red slides near the top, because 99 drops you all the way to 41.
- A race with more bots takes longer, so pick one opponent for a quick game and three for a long one.
- Your best score is the fewest rolls you needed to win, so replay for a lucky run.
- Read the ladder and slide list under the board if you want to know where every jump goes.
FAQ
- Is it just luck?
- Yes, as in the traditional game: every move is decided by the die. There is nothing to choose, which is why it works so well as a quick game for all ages.
- Why do I need an exact roll at the end?
- It keeps the finish exciting. If you overshoot square 100 your piece stays put and you wait for the right number.
- Is this the same as Snakes and Ladders?
- It uses the same rules with original names, board and art: ladders climb and slides descend.
