Mini Sudoku Six
A quick 6 by 6 sudoku with 2 by 3 boxes. Every row, column and box holds 1 to 6 once. A new grid every day plus easy, medium and hard practice.
How to play
- Fill the 6 by 6 grid so every row, every column and every 2 by 3 box contains the numbers 1 to 6 exactly once.
- Tap a square, then tap a number or press 1 to 6 on your keyboard. Given numbers cannot be changed.
- Switch Notes on to pencil in possible numbers. They clear automatically when you place a number in the same row, column or box.
- Matching numbers are highlighted and clashes turn red. The timer starts with your first move.
Tips and strategy
- Look for a square where only one number is still possible, then work outwards from it.
- Scan each 2 by 3 box for the numbers that can only go in one place within it.
- Use notes when two squares in a row share the same two candidates. Those numbers are locked out of every other square in that row.
- Every puzzle has exactly one solution, so you never need to guess.
FAQ
- How is this different from a normal sudoku?
- The grid is 6 by 6 with 2 by 3 boxes and the numbers 1 to 6, so a puzzle takes a few minutes instead of half an hour.
- Does every puzzle have exactly one answer?
- Yes. Each puzzle is generated and checked by a solver so it has one unique solution that can be reached by logic alone.
- Is the daily puzzle the same for everyone?
- Yes. It is built from the UTC date, so everyone gets the same grid until 00:00 UTC.
