Free Cells
Build all four suits up from ace to king using four free cells as parking spots. A fresh deal every day, almost every one solvable with careful planning.
How to play
- All 52 cards are dealt face up into eight columns. Tap a card to select it, then tap where it should go.
- On a column, a card goes onto the next higher rank of the opposite colour, such as a red 6 onto a black 7.
- The four free cells each hold one card. The four foundations at the top are built up by suit from ace to king.
- You can move several ordered cards at once if you have enough empty cells and columns. Clear every card to the foundations to win.
Tips and strategy
- Free the aces and twos first. Cards buried under them are the ones that will trap you later.
- Try not to fill every free cell. An empty cell or empty column is worth far more than a tidy foundation.
- Empty a column early when you can; an empty column lets you move whole sequences.
- Think a few moves ahead before committing a card to a cell. Undo is there if you change your mind.
FAQ
- Is every deal winnable?
- Almost. Only a tiny fraction of random FreeCell deals cannot be solved, so a loss is nearly always a planning mistake rather than bad luck.
- How many cards can I move at once?
- One more than your number of empty free cells, doubled for each empty column. With two empty cells and no empty column that is three cards.
- Is the daily deal the same for everyone?
- Yes. The daily deal is generated from the date, so everyone gets the same layout. Practice mode gives you new random deals.
