Patience Classic

The familiar solitaire card game: build four suit stacks from Ace to King by moving cards between seven piles. A fresh deal every day plus unlimited practice.

How to play

  1. Build the four foundations at the top right from Ace up to King, one suit each. Tap a card, then tap where it should go.
  2. On the seven piles you build downward in alternating colours, for example a red 6 on a black 7. Tap a face-up card to move it along with the cards on top of it.
  3. Only a King can fill an empty pile. Tap the stock to turn over a new card onto the waste; when the stock runs out, tap it again to turn the waste over.
  4. Tap a selected card a second time to send it straight to its foundation. Undo takes back any move.

Tips and strategy

  • Uncover face-down cards first. Moves that turn over a hidden card are almost always the best ones.
  • Do not rush cards to the foundations. A low card on the piles can be the only place a different card can go.
  • Try to empty a pile early and keep it for a King that has a long run to bring with it.
  • Practice mode has a draw-3 option for a harder game, and it deals a new shuffle every time.

FAQ

Can every deal be won?
No. A fair share of random solitaire deals cannot be won however you play, so the daily deal may not be solvable. Press Give up if you get stuck and the day still counts as done.
Is the daily deal the same for everyone?
Yes. It is shuffled from the UTC date, so everyone gets the same layout until 00:00 UTC.
What is the difference between draw 1 and draw 3?
Draw 1 turns one stock card at a time, which is easier. Draw 3 turns three, but only the top one can be played, which is a harder game. The daily uses draw 1.
Is this Klondike?
Yes, this is the classic Klondike layout, the version most people simply call solitaire or patience.
