Four Boards
Solve four five-letter word puzzles at once with nine guesses. Every guess counts on all four boards. New daily set.
How to play
- Four hidden five-letter words are in play at once. Type any real word and press Enter: it is scored on all four boards at the same time.
- Green means the right letter in the right place, amber means the letter is in that board's word but elsewhere, and dark means it is not in that word.
- Each key on the keyboard shows four small squares, one per board, so you can see what you know about every word at a glance.
- You have nine guesses to solve all four. A board stops taking guesses the moment its word is found.
Tips and strategy
- Open with two or three words that use different common letters, such as CRANE, SLOTH and BUDGY, to light up all four boards.
- Once a board is down to a few candidates, pick a guess that is also a candidate for another board so it does double duty.
- Do not burn guesses on a board that is nearly solved. Finish the vague boards first, then close the easy ones.
- Watch the key squares: a letter that is dark on three boards but amber on one tells you exactly where to hunt.
FAQ
- Is the daily set the same for everyone?
- Yes. The four words are chosen from the UTC date, so everyone gets the same boards, and a new set arrives at 00:00 UTC.
- Can the same word be the answer on two boards?
- No. The four answers are always different words.
- Which words count as valid guesses?
- Any word from the built-in list of common five-letter words, which is also where the answers come from.
