Field Sweep Daily
Clear a twelve by twelve minefield without touching a mine. Everyone gets the same board each day, with a free opening, so you can compare times.
How to play
- Tap a square to open it. A number tells you how many mines touch that square, counting diagonals.
- Flag squares you think hold mines: right-click, long-press on a phone, or switch on Flag mode and tap.
- Tap an opened number that already has the right number of flags around it to open all of its other neighbours at once.
- Open every square that is not a mine to win. If you hit a mine, retry the same board and your try count goes up.
Tips and strategy
- The board starts with an area already open, so begin by reading the numbers on its edge.
- A number equal to the count of hidden squares around it means all of them are mines.
- Flag every mine you are sure of. Flags unlock the quick-open shortcut, which saves a lot of time.
- Only the first try's difficulty is the same for everyone. Fewer tries make a better share.
FAQ
- Is the board really the same for everyone?
- Yes. The mines are generated from the date, so everyone gets the same board and the same opening until 00:00 UTC.
- Can I retry after hitting a mine?
- Yes. Retry puts you back on the same board and counts as a new try, shown on your result.
- Are there guessing moments?
- Occasionally. The boards are random, so a rare one may need a guess. Practice mode gives you other boards.
