Crown Grid
Place one crown in every row, column and colour region, with no two crowns touching. Every grid has exactly one solution.
How to play
- The grid is split into coloured regions. Place exactly one crown in every row, every column and every colour region.
- No two crowns may touch each other, not even diagonally.
- Tap a cell once to mark it as empty, twice to place a crown, and a third time to clear it. Marks are only notes to help you.
- Crowns that break a rule glow red. Solve the grid to stop the timer; every grid has exactly one answer, so you never need to guess.
Tips and strategy
- Start with the smallest region: if a region is a single cell, it must hold the crown there.
- When a region sits entirely in one row or column, that row or column's crown must be in that region, so mark the rest of the row empty.
- A crown rules out all eight cells around it, so mark those as empty straight away.
- If two regions are squeezed into the same two columns, no other region can use those columns.
FAQ
- Is there always a single solution?
- Yes. Each grid is checked by a solver that confirms exactly one arrangement works before you see it.
- What sizes are there?
- The daily grid is 7×7. Practice mode offers 5×5 up to 9×9.
- Is the daily grid the same for everyone?
- Yes. It is built from the UTC date, so everyone gets the same puzzle until 00:00 UTC.
