Colour Match Daily
Mix red, green and blue to recreate a target colour. Score up to 100 points a round for how close your eye gets. A new set of colours every day.
How to play
- A target colour is shown next to your colour. Drag the red, green and blue sliders until the two swatches look the same.
- Tap Lock in. The target's exact value is revealed and you score up to 100 points, based on how close you were.
- Tap Next colour for the following round. The daily has five colours and practice offers three, five or eight.
- Your total and share grid appear after the last round. Green squares are great matches, red ones are far off.
Tips and strategy
- Decide the dominant channel first. If the target looks orange, red is high, green is middle and blue is low.
- Move one slider at a time, and judge the swatches by looking at the middle of each, not the edges.
- Grey is when all three sliders are equal. Use that to tell whether a colour has a warm or cool tint.
- Take your time. The timer only measures your total, and the score depends on accuracy, not speed.
FAQ
- How is my score calculated?
- The distance between your colour and the target is measured in a way that matches how the eye sees colour. Zero distance scores 100, and the score falls smoothly towards zero as the colours get further apart.
- Is the daily the same for everyone?
- Yes. The colours are generated from the UTC date, so everyone gets the same five and a fresh set appears at 00:00 UTC.
- Does my screen affect the result?
- Screens differ a little in colour, but the score compares the numbers you chose with the target's numbers, so the result is fair on any screen.
