Burst Chain
Take turns adding orbs to a small grid against the computer. Fill a cell to its limit and it bursts, spreading to its neighbours and stealing them.
How to play
- On your turn, add one orb to an empty cell or to a cell you already own.
- Corners hold up to 1 orb and burst on the second, edges burst on the third, and the middle cells burst on the fourth.
- A burst sends one orb to each neighbouring cell and turns those cells to your colour, which can set off more bursts.
- Wipe out every opposing orb after both sides have moved to win. Pick Easy, Normal or Hard for the computer.
Tips and strategy
- Corners are cheap to fill and quick to burst, which makes them good chain starters early on.
- A gold border means one more orb bursts that cell. Check where the computer can do that before you move.
- Do not leave your cells next to an almost-full red cell. A single burst will flip them.
- Long chains can swing the whole board, so look for a move that sets one off rather than just growing your count.
FAQ
- Can I place on the computer's cells?
- No. You can only add to empty cells or your own cells. Bursting is how you take theirs.
- When does the game end?
- As soon as one player has no orbs left after both sides have played at least once.
- How smart is Hard?
- Hard looks one reply ahead and avoids moves that let you win a chain. It is beatable, but it punishes careless setups.
