Area Quiz
Work out the area or perimeter of rectangles, triangles and L-shapes from a labelled diagram, and answer fast for bonus points.
How to play
- Look at the shape and read whether the question asks for area or perimeter.
- Type your whole-number answer and press Submit. The clock starts on your first answer.
- You get 12 questions in 90 seconds. Quicker right answers earn more points.
- Shapes get harder as you go, from rectangles and squares to triangles and L-shapes.
Tips and strategy
- Area is the space inside, so multiply. Perimeter is the distance around, so add up every side.
- A triangle's area is half of base times height.
- For an L-shape, take the full rectangle and subtract the corner that is cut out.
- For a right triangle perimeter, the long side is shown, so just add all three sides.
FAQ
- Are the answers always whole numbers?
- Yes. Every question is built so the answer is a whole number, so type digits only.
- What happens if I get one wrong?
- You see the right answer and move on to the next question. Only correct answers score.
- What units do the shapes use?
- The units are left out on purpose. Treat every side as the same unit.
