Field Sweep
Uncover every safe square and flag the hidden mines using the number clues.
How to play
- Click or tap a square to reveal it. Your first reveal is always safe.
- A number shows how many of the eight surrounding squares are mines.
- Right-click, or switch to Flag mode on a touch screen, to mark squares you think are mines.
- Click a revealed number whose flags already match it to reveal its remaining neighbours at once.
- Reveal every safe square to win. Your best time per board size is saved on this device.
Tips and strategy
- A 1 touching exactly one unrevealed square means that square is a mine.
- If a number's flags are complete, every other neighbour is safe: reveal them all with one click.
- Work from the edges and corners where fewer neighbours mean tighter clues.
- When stuck, look for the 1-2-1 pattern along a revealed edge: the two outer squares are mines.
FAQ
- Can I lose on my first click?
- No. Mines are placed after your first reveal and never within one square of it.
- How do I flag on a phone?
- Use the Flag toggle above the board: while it is on, taps place or remove flags instead of revealing.
