Code Breaker
Crack a hidden row of coloured pegs. After every guess you learn how many are right and how many are in the wrong place. Classic 4 pegs or a harder 5 pegs with 8 colours.
How to play
- The computer hides a code of 4 coloured pegs (5 on Hard). Colours can repeat.
- Build a guess by tapping colours, then press Check. You have 10 tries on Classic and 12 on Hard.
- A solid dot means one peg is the right colour in the right place. A hollow dot means a right colour in the wrong place.
- Crack the code within your tries to win. Every colour also has its own symbol so you can play without relying on colour.
Tips and strategy
- Open with two colours in each half, such as red red blue blue, to learn how the colours split.
- Keep every guess consistent with all earlier clues. Each guess should be a possible answer.
- Count dots, not positions at first: work out which colours are in the code, then where they go.
- Hint fills your row with a code that fits every clue so far, so it can speed up a stuck game.
FAQ
- Is this Mastermind?
- It is the same classic deduction idea, built here with its own look and names.
- Can the code repeat a colour?
- Yes. Repeats are allowed, which is why the hollow and solid dot counts matter.
- How is my best score counted?
- As the fewest guesses it took to crack a code, saved separately for Classic and Hard on this device.
