Lap Dash

Race a twisting top-down circuit for three laps. The car speeds up on its own, so you steer, brake for the hairpins and chase your own ghost.

How to play

The car accelerates by itself. Steer with the Left and Right arrow keys or A and D, and brake with Down, S or Space. On a phone, hold the Left, Brake and Right buttons.
Stay on the grey road. Drive onto the grass and your top speed drops sharply, so steer back quickly.
Complete three laps as fast as you can. Your total time and every lap time are shown at the end.
Your fastest lap is saved as a ghost, a pale blue car that races you next time. Beat it to set a new best.

Brake before a sharp bend, not in it. A short tap early lets you hold more speed through the turn.
Aim for the inside of each corner so the car travels the shortest line around the track.
Small steering taps beat holding a direction. Hold too long and you swing off the road.
Watch the ghost on the first lap to see where it brakes, then try to be braver than it was.

Is there any way to go faster than the top speed?: No. Everyone shares the same top speed, so the time comes from your racing line and how little you brake and drift onto the grass.
Where is my ghost saved?: Your best lap is stored on this device in your browser only. Clearing site data removes it.
Does it work on a phone?: Yes. Hold the Left and Right buttons to steer and Brake to slow down. Holding both steering buttons together cancels out.
